Hermes, being one of the most traditional maisons de mode is very fearless when pairing itself with collaborators. The brand is always promoting young talents, mid-career and established artists either in the windows of their boutiques around the world or through their Fondation d’entreprise Hermès. I took this picture three weeks ago at the Hermes boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré because it's fascinating to see the contrast between a very luxurious handbag, like this Birkin, and Kongo's graffiti tags and street art designs. Hermes and Kongo launched a very successful line of scarves in 2011 but I had never seen the other items that he created for the brand. Of course, I was quite elated to run into this bag, even if just to serve me as eye candy.
