What’s contemporary décor?  I don’t think that there is a perfect term to describe what contemporary décor is. People like to live with amazing things that they call part of their contemporary décor.  It is a mix of very new things with others that are more soulful what makes contemporary décor be a category of its own. Contemporary décor is a thing of the past twenty years and I think people confuse Contemporary décor with futuristic style.  I also believe that if a piece of contemporary art or magnificent contemporary design has been added to a room, the whole space will have a feel of contemporary décor. The politics and rules of design have also taken away the truthful nature of contemporary décor.

 A lot of very successful people have approached my company or become clients of mine because they wanted to have contemporary décor to make made sense for their lifestyles. Their first complaint was their own lack of time to do the necessary research, attend all of the shows and follow the careers of the contemporary art artists and designers and go to all the contemporary décor stores.  The second complaint is usually: now that I know what I like, how do I make contemporary décor work for my life? Contemporary décor is also smart décor, design that makes people think.  If you go to a room and looks like it has been created and designed for current times it probably belongs to the world of contemporary décor.  I also love good design and combining old and new, vintage and contemporary that is why I think that there is contemporary décor that is meaningful and soulful in everything I do. I love contemporary décor and enjoy putting together this mix of artists, designers and spaces in the projects that I get to work with my clients.
