Ivan Navarro's works have made quite a few appearances in this blog lately. He is a brilliant artist and an exceptional curator. Yesterday, "Junkies Promises", curated by Ivan, opened at Paul Kasmin Gallery. I chose my three favorite pieces and edited the rest, which was amazing too, but I needed to choose. So if I could recommend any of the show's pieces to my clients or if I could have them myself, they would be: Deborah Kass's neon called "After Louise Bourgeois" which is large, colorful, extremely smart, well executed and impactful; Dzine's gigantic "glam" chandelier and Alfredo Jaar's neon "Teach Us to Outgrow Our Madness" whose message says enough about the life we live in our current times!
